UB Canadian - American Studies Committee Fall 2009 Grant Competition
Grant Competitions are undertaken with the assistance of the Government of Canada.
Proposals are invited from full-time faculty and graduate students at UB for projects and activities that are designed to encourage and promote increased awareness and understanding at UB of Canada and of relations between Canada and the United States. Proposals can be submitted electronically as one file. Deadline is Monday, October 26, 2009. Instructions and application form can be found here. Study Abroad Academic Program

Undergraduate students majoring in any discipline in the College of Arts &
Sciences may benefit from participation in this full year exchange program.
Participants will enroll in the equivalent of 4 or 5 full-year classes by selecting
from the complete range of full-year and half-year classes available in the

ACSUS Jeanne Kissner Award The competition is open to all undergraduates in the United States or permanent residents of the United States, enrolled in a course in Canadian Studies in the two years preceding the November 2009 Biennial. The Committee prefers essays between five and fifteen typed pages, double-spaced, but we will consider longer submissions as well.
International Council for Canadian Studies
This ICCS Award is designed to recognize and promote each year an outstanding PhD thesis on a Canadian topic, written by a member (or one of his/her students) of a Canadian Studies Association or Associate Member, and which contributes to a better understanding of Canada. Deadline for submissions is November 24th, 2009.
Understanding Canada - Canadian Studies, International Research Linkages
The International Council for Canadian Studies through a contribution of the Government of Canada offers grants of up to CDN$ 10,000 to assist in the establishment or the development of international research networks in the area of Canadian Studies between Canada and other countries. Submission Deadline: November 24th, 2009
